Slow Honey

by Leah R Cutter

I ain't slow. Don't care what Pappy says. I'm real quick at making furniture for the fancy folk up the hill.

Then those star folk come. I'd sure like to go with them. But I ain't sure if it's right, me up in the stars that way.

My brother Jeremy wants to go too. And though he's awfully mean to me, he tells me he's my best buddy.

And ain't best buddies supposed to help each other?
